3D Modeling Projects

3D modeling projects created with blender and 3ds max

I created several low-poly models with blender. My takeaway from these projects is my experience with major 3d modeling tools such as extrude, scale, and developing an overall knowledge of the process of 3d modeling.

I also tried creating low-poly models with 3ds Max. During the creation process, I paid attention to the features that are similar or different to blender. I noticed that it is easier to create shapes, assign colors, and edit polygons in 3ds Max. I personally prefer this over blender.

My

Reflection

These projects are my approach in getting to experience the 3D modeling process. I believe I will be able to communicate more efficiently in collaborative environments if I am familiar with other game design processes, so I tried to at least have some basic experiences with 3D modeling.

I mainly focused on low-poly models. They are not as complicated but can still give a great introduction to the general process of 3D modeling. I started modeling with blender, and as I learn about 3D modeling experience in the gaming industry, I also tried to experience other software that I later discovered, aiming to prepare accordingly for future collaboration tasks.

My biggest takeaway from these projects is my experience with the general process of 3D modeling. During future collaborations, this allows me to consider feasibility when communicating demands with 3D modeler peers, and come up with rational, achievable goals.
